evosessions is a live recording EP released in 2019 under Evosound Hong Kong, capturing a day of spontaneous, collaborative music-making in Mandaluyong City, Philippines.
Recorded at Spryta Productions, Inc., the session brought together three songs from different musical worlds: “Sign Your Name” by Terence Trent D’Arby, “Roxanne” by The Police, and “Whole Lotta Love” by Led Zeppelin. The songs were arranged by Marga Jayy and EK Santamaria, giving each track a fresh, performance-driven approach.
The session featured a powerhouse lineup of musicians: Yuna Reguerra on bass, Nicole Reluya on saxophone, Zsaris on percussion and backing vocals, Karmi Santiago on drums, and Brad Coronel on keyboards—Marga’s main keyboard player at the time and the one guy in an otherwise all-female lineup.
More than a recording project, evosessions was a day of fun, experimentation, and musical chemistry. The live-session format allowed the musicians to play off one another and capture the energy of the room rather than simply reproduce a studio arrangement.
Years later, “Sign Your Name” remains the most-streamed track from the EP. Interestingly, some listeners have even assumed it was an original Marga Jayy song—a testament to how naturally the arrangement became part of her sound and identity.
