Daydreaming EP – 2023

Daydreaming is about the thrill and unpredictability of a romance freshly bloomed. Featuring an arrangement by nu-jazz pioneer Dan Gil and the talents of LA-based trumpeter Aaron Janik, Daydreaming is a kaleidoscopic musical journey that blends together elements of jazztronica, neo-soul, and nu-funk.

“I came up with the melody and lyrics for Daydreaming while the sun was setting on Black’s Beach, San Diego. This song was like the ocean whispering to me. I just translated it into a different form. So I sent my phone recording to Dan back in Manila and he was able to do the arrangement in no time (fueled by alcohol and excitement!). I asked Aaron to play the trumpet and flugelhorn, and our minds were blown when we heard what he sent back. Basically, the song flowed naturally into everyone who played on the track. Same for the music video, where parts of it were shot in sunny Siargao before the recent typhoon damaged the island. The shoot wasn’t planned at all; We were just having fun. And now I’m so excited to share it with everyone.“ mused Marga when recalling the single’s creation.
